Kelpies, Krakans, Merfolk, Sirens, Naiads,Selkies and other mythical under water creatures use underground caves to live in, store things in, hide in, breed and nest in, and even fight in. There are so many under water caves that the list would be too long to post however I shall list some types of under water caves. The first type is found on the continental slope. They are reletively small and can be found by humans. Usually eels live there but there are a few that hold water faeries or other small creatures. The second is found on the continental rise. They come in all sizes but are on a slope. These can be used for storage, breeding, and depending on the size it can be used for housing. The third ison the ocean basin and they are vertical. About half of them are skinny and not very wide; those types are rarely used but are good to wiggle into when avoiding predators. The larger ones can be deep or small but the mouths of those caves are wide. Housing and storage are usually what goes in there. The last are in the hadalpalagic zone meaning they're in the deepest part of the ocean that's pitch black and humans have only scratched the surface of it's watery depths. The pressure is hard on most of the mythical sea creatures so they aren't used for things that are known. They are secret, some of bars to keep it locked up. Dangerous and evil mythical creatures are known to use those caves. | |
